Understanding the Pattern
Clarity Before Change
Many adults come to therapy wondering if they've been missing something.
Maybe you've always struggled with organization, follow through, emotional regulation, or feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities. Perhaps you've spent years wondering if it's ADHD, trauma, anxiety, burnout, or simply a personal failing.
The truth is that many of these experiences look remarkably similar on the surface. Trauma can affect attention. ADHD can impact emotional regulation. Chronic stress can impair executive functioning. Anxiety can make concentration nearly impossible.
Before deciding what needs to change, it's important to first understand why you're struggling.
My assessment services are designed to provide more than a diagnosis. Together, we'll explore how your brain, nervous system, life experiences, and environment work together to shape the patterns you experience every day.
Whether the answer is ADHD, trauma, anxiety, or a combination of several factors, you'll leave with a clearer understanding of yourself and a personalized roadmap for moving forward.
Because understanding the pattern is the first step toward changing it.

Why "Understanding the Pattern"?
As a therapist, I've found that many adults spend years blaming themselves for struggles they don't fully understand.
Some have ADHD that was never recognized.
Some are living with the effects of trauma.
Many have both.
Others are experiencing burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, or chronic nervous system dysregulation that can look remarkably similar to ADHD.
My goal isn't simply to assign a diagnosis.
My goal is to help you understand the patterns that have shaped your experiences, recognize your strengths, identify what's getting in the way, and create a plan that helps you move forward with confidence.
Because you can't change a pattern until you understand it.
And once you understand it, you can begin creating something different.
Why Are These Services Private Pay?
These evaluations are designed to provide something that most traditional therapy sessions and brief medication appointments cannot: dedicated time to fully understand your story.
Rather than focusing on symptom management alone, these assessments involve an in-depth review of your developmental history, life experiences, executive functioning, nervous system patterns, standardized assessment measures, and the many conditions that can overlap with or resemble ADHD.
Insurance companies typically reimburse for medically necessary treatment, not the extensive evaluation, scoring, report writing, and consultation required to provide this level of diagnostic clarity. Much of the work involved happens outside of your appointment, including reviewing questionnaires, interpreting assessment results, integrating multiple sources of information, and preparing a comprehensive written report tailored specifically to you.
Choosing private pay also allows me to:
Spend the time your evaluation deserves rather than working within insurance time limits.
Select assessment tools based on your individual needs rather than insurance requirements.
Focus on understanding the whole person, not just assigning a diagnosis.
Provide comprehensive written reports and personalized recommendations without restrictions on the amount of time I can dedicate to your case.
Maintain greater privacy by not submitting your assessment information or diagnosis to your health insurance company.
My goal is not simply to determine whether you meet criteria for ADHD. My goal is to help you understand how your brain, nervous system, and life experiences interact so you can move forward with confidence and a clear plan for treatment.
